I would get a farrier to VET / have a look at his shoes and ask their advice on riding and jumping, etc.

Question:
I put myself in a posititon where im riding it almost never cause im too scared to ride on him and damage his front hooves and because it was before the laminitis, it is very likely to get it back. earlier he had laminitis, it was a brilliant show jumper. it jumps from time to time and he loves it! but he is 19 now and I feel that I should not do much especially since his laminitis but I hate to see him so sad that the jump that makes him so happy. What should I do?

Working on a hard floor would be a problem, but in an enclosure of grass or a cool scene that was worked regularly riding and jumping should be no issue. The Most horses have failed because of management difficulties food, as long as you’re careful about food, you should have fewer problems with any work you want done. The other reason is founder horses hard floors or very high stress. You can easily control these questions.J got a friend who had a stallion that had sunk within 4 feet on a trailer tower too long. They went over the great divide in Colorado and was caught in a snowstorm. It took about five years, but he was able to return to dressage and jumping on a limited basis, it has jumped to 3 feet and only 2 days a week. He has been castrated at 28 from cancer of the testicles, and he was eventually suppressed at 32, he was still jumping 2 feet up the week before, he was down.
