Sounds like that’s what’s happening. Get a powder or spray or something and treat your home, try having a word with your friend too.

Fleas are rotten little things. I was visiting my mum (who has no pets) and I saw a teeny black thing on my dressing gown while I was having a smoke in the garden. for the next week I was bitten every night. I guess once they have something to live off be it pet or human they can live and I assume this means they can multiply too. Get some spray immediately and cover the entire house with it and then head out for about an hour coz it doesn’t smell too nice. Then maybe you should ask your friend about how she treats her pet and explain what’s happened. the frontline spot on treatment for pets is really good, my cat hasn’t had fleas yet and she’s really fuzzy and I’m always forgetting to reapply it well after the month is up so it lasts really well

wow! you sound like your in a jam! i would wait a little and if they go away soon(which they might do) then you’re good. but it depends on how long it’s been. i’d say after 1 week you should use flea stuff.

want to tell a doctor or vet or something? i don’t think it’s really something to worry about but to just be on the safe side consult someone like that.

Does your friend have a dog or cat?

By all means use powder/ spray at home, but…

WARNING: if you have fish in your home, flea treatment spray or powder will kill them if it gets in the water. Cover all tanks or containers. Seal them airtight.

(I know because I tested one of the main common ingredients)

Flea eggs can remain dormant for quite some time, but you’re only likely to have those in the home if there is an infested pet or you recently moved into an infested home. When we had a cat we had a bit of a problem which was worse when it was warm.

If you suspect an infestation, thorough vacuuming is a good start. it’s not a bad idea to put some treatment in your vacuum bag.

One idea I have tried is to put a dish of hot water on the floor, assuming that they are attracted to heat. If you find any in there in the morning, then you have an infestation.

If you don’t have any pets yourself, then there shouldn’t be a long term problem since animal fleas don’t like the taste of us humans.
