The dog is not socialized. obedience classes would solve this problem by socializing your dog in a controlled environment, the more you two advantages. You learn to control your dog and train it and learn to trust and respect that you.The behavior of dogs in the shelter is not how they behave normally. It is an abnormal environment for them so they behave abnormally. It can take months for their natural behavior and personality come out.

Question:
About four days ago I adopted a dog from a local shelter and it seemed to be okay around dogs there, but every time I take him for a walk and he sees another dog, he growls. It’s so embarrassing and I do my best to keep him but I just end up dragging. He almost bit another dog a few days ago! Im really worried. PLEASE HELP!

try taking a squeeky toy in your pocket when you see another dog squeeze toy and Gove and your dog attention when the other dog has passed without your dog to attack, then reward him with a treat or lots of love and attention.

you can try to distract him when another dog is near. bring a favorite toy and candy on the steps and when another dog begins to approach the use of the toy to distract him. or when it starts getting aggressive and turn it off in the opposite direction, when he calms down turn and follow the path you go and just continue in this pattern and he will realize that other dogs barking isn’t will search everywhere. if you’re persistent, it should get.

In training! Register now for giving me the “My dog is trained online” because if you’re in this situation or ask this question then it is obvious that your dog is not trained! Train your dog!

Hire a trainer or behaviorist, they are the only ones who can aider.Vous you should stop walking near other dogs so it is an aggressive dog. Try walking him very early morning and late evening when fewer dogs are around, and if you see a screaming “My dog is not nice dog!” and cross the street. Try to get a halter or harness before clipping so you can keep control of him if he tries to run toward other dogs.

I have the same problem dude. I’m not exactly what to do but to give dogs lots of attention seemed to work for me when I tried to do. and do not listen to anyone saying oh he works very early morning or late at night and just try to get dogs. that person probably has no idea what they are talking, be early and late it is when most people walk their dog, and you should try to socialize the dog as others have said, dodging the situation wont solve anything.

Do not stuggle trying to restrain him. Thats hard on your arm. Try this. Although its focus is on the other dog. Quickly put his foot closer to his collar as you can and put it on the lead. Where is your foot, his head will follow. Hold it until the other dog passes. It will not be like that and will soon learn his behavior is unacceptable. Choose a phase, it will be remembered .. I use the phase “let” another instructor uses “Do not touch.” Drop your tone of voice so he knows you mean business. You’ll see how quickly he picks up on this and it will stay quiet when another animal goes. Now, he may whine or even growl at first, but the jump and pulling other animals stop after only a few times to use this method. And do not let up until it is again … if he struggles, keep it down. This is not to hurt him in any way once you commit to put down, so it stays until you decide it is quiet and calm. I mean prefectly again. Once he learns to behave on the lead, your walks will be enjoyable. Then the chances of keeping you and take care of that increase long-term animal ten times. Thank you again for the adoption of another unwanted animal. Their love and dedication is without equal when they are cared for and well trained. Good luck.

My dog was the same and I tried everything. Finally, a behaviorist suggested taking a squirty bottle of water with me on a little walk, and when my dog began to be aggressive towards another dog, then give him a short line with water. It was enough of a distraction for him to stop immediately. I only got to use this method a few times before learning it wasn’t acceptable behavior. You must be quick with your schedule, however, and squirt when it starts to be aggressive, otherwise it wont associate the squirt water with its comportement.Bonne luck!

my dog did that and sisters after watching a show on television, she took a bottle of water sprayed on it with his foot. when his dog started to go for another dog, she splashed her face with water while saying loudly “No”. she had only to do it twice and the third time, it is necessary to reach for the bottle and it stopped.

which is really annoying, I think I’ve been there too, with my Rottweilers .. and the first thing you have to do is talk to the owner first, what kind of training he has given to your dog. Maybe he is really trained to growl with other dogs .. Otherwise, here is a simple, using a necklace! when he growls at other dogs chalk it a bit and then say “NO” in a way hard. this every time, but still cautious in using chokers, Do aqueeze him for many, He’le get the point with a little choke .. here are training easier, but works in some jourshttp: / / lemonline.bravehost. com

In many cases, this behavior can be changed by teaching the dog to focus on its owner and rewarding the dog with praise and treats to ignore the other dog or dogs. In any case, a dog will be punished or corrected for this aggressive behavior by pulling on the leash, yelling at the dog or hit the dog. Aggressive behavior is usually caused by fear, and punishment can increase fear and thereby increase the aggression that the punishment was intended to stop.
