I think this is not the best idea. My cats get really upset when they leave home, I imagine leaving the house is a scary concept and very stressful.
Cats are creatures of habit longer to get them out of their familiar environment is not a bright idea unless absolutely necessary.
It depends on your cat. Most do not travel to other places, but if your cat does not seem to mind this, then take him. If you go a day you’ve probably had better leave it at home with a bowl of food and 2 bowls of water. We show cats and they are quite used to traveling and spending the night in a hotel or two .
